Abstract

These files document the actions or petitions by Governor Luke P. Blackburn to bring about the apprehension of fugitives from justice. Included are requests to the governor for warrants on those who jumped bail; rewards to be offered for fugitives; and copies of pertinent documents and case histories. Also included are several case histories pertaining to racially motivated violence against blacks, including murder and lynching.
